FSOSS ‘07 — Call for Proposals
I’m one of the chairs of the Free Software and Open Source Symposium (FSOSS), and wanted to get the word out that we’ve opened the flood gates for talk and workshop proposals for fall 2007. Last year’s line-up was fantastic, and if you missed it, you can grab the talks here.
This year we’re going [...]
And just behind, apng
No sooner am I back home from Seneca than I see that not only is distcc done, but Stuart has landed apng for Andrew! What a day to celebrate great work. Andrew, Stuart, Vlad, congratulations. And it’s only 9:30, I wonder what’s coming next?

Google Summer of Code
It’s that time of year again: the snow is starting to melt, I just saw my first Robin of the season, and that little Internet company that could is now taking applications for Summer of Code.
This year’s list of mentoring organizations is unbelievable; don’t say you didn’t have a choice. However, let me draw [...]
Weather Permitting
Last week I was busy teaching a one week intensive course on Mozilla development, aimed specifically at developers new to the project. In total I had 40 students go through it with me, and the feedback was amazing, for example:
“I was able to learn quite a lot in such a short amount of time. [...]
Word from the motherland
I’m starting to sort through email from this past week, and noticed one from the Amit (cozby) in India. He’s in the motherland for three months doing the wanderlust thing. You can follow along with him at his blog. Amit, keep that blog hot, curry hot.
