Big Dog

We’ve been talking about robots for a while, the girls and me.  They were fascinated to know that a machine could put a car together, for example.  We built our first robot out of an old Kleenex box, some nails, popsicle sticks, and a paper plate. My oldest daughter wrote a program so it could make pancakes for me, by drawing symbols to mean “go forward 4 steps,” “get the sugar,” “turn on the pan,” etc.

Spending time talking with them about robots reminded me of my favourite robot, Big Dog:

    Sounds like you need to get them a LOGO system to play with. :)
