Brian was born in Toronto, and received his M.A. in English Literature from the University of Waterloo and a Masters of Library Science from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo. He has published in the Dalhousie Review and taught writing at Humber College in Toronto.
His travels include an overland trek through Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan to India, as well as living in Mykonos, Greece and teaching English as a Second Language in Hamburg and Munich, Germany. He wrote journals of all his travels, and still keeps one on a daily basis.
Brian and his wife, Sharyn, have led many art and wine-themed trips to Italy, and art and architecture tours to the United States.
They currently live in Guelph, Ontario. Brian is now working on a travel piece about their search for a house to buy in Italy, as well as a mystery novel set in Tuscany, drawing on his knowledge as a sommelier.
