Madeleine Essery is a third-year student studying Creative Writing and Neuroscience at the University of Guelph. Her degree specializes in fiction and nonfiction prose, where she hopes to become a novelist.
During her undergrad, she edited the university's branch of the Canadian Association of Research in Regenerative Medicine magazine and interviewed individuals in related fields. She is also the Vice President of Communications for the Bachelor of Arts & Sciences Student Association, where she has run events to help students improve their writing in coursework.
Her passion for supporting local artists and interest in the community led her to coordinate the Spring Writers Retreat.
