Will Robin Young was born in Toronto and moved to Guelph in1996. He is a retired professor of the Paramedic Programs at Conestoga College in Kitchener and Humber College in Toronto. Prior to teaching, he worked with Toronto Paramedic Services. He is a former writer for Canadian Paramedicine magazine with a focus on paramedic safety and mental wellbeing. He has written articles on Chinese Martial Arts in Tong Ren magazine and The Journal of Asian Martial Arts. His first book, Self-Defence for Paramedics and other Health Care Workers, was written to coordinate with presentations and seminars in paramedic safety. Robin is completing a second book focusing on Chinese Martial Arts in Toronto during the 1960s and 1970s. He is expanding his writing into short fiction. A lifelong martial art practitioner, he teaches Lor’s Hung Kuen Kung Fu and Fut Shan SouthernLion Dancing in downtown Guelph. Robin is a volunteer with GlobalMedic, a humanitarian organization that provides disaster relieve worldwide. He has deployed to various countries including Cambodia, Angola, Nepal, Philippine Islands, the Caribbean Islands, Haiti, Ukraine, and, most recently, Armenia.
