Come celebrate poetry month with Vocamus Writers Community at the downtown Guelph Public Library on Wednesday, April 25, 7:00 PM.
Poets from the Guelph area will introduce their favourite dead poet to you and then read a poem or three. You'll learn about the poets who inspire our poets, and maybe pick up a new favourite of your own.
Bieke Stengos is the author of two collections of poetry, Transmigrator and Abandoned by the Muse. She will introduce and read from the classical Greek poet, Sappho (630-580- BC).
Valerie Senyk is the author of the poetry collection, i want a poem. She will introduce and read from the Bohemian-Austrian poet, Rainer Maria Rilke (1875-1926).
Michael Kleiza is the author the poetry collection, A Poet on the Moon. He will introduce and read from Welsh poet, Dylan Thomas (1914-1953).
Rob O’Flanagan is the co-author of the poetry collection, Open Up The Sky. He will introduce and read from American poet Charles Bukowski (1920-1994).
Paul Hoy is the author of a forthcoming collection of poetry with Vocamus Press. He will introduce and read from American poet, Jim Harrison (1959-2015).
