The Eden Mills Writers' Festival presents a writing workshop with Craig Davidson on Saturday, September 8, 9:00 AM to noon at the Delta Hotel.
One of the best, but perhaps most underappreciated, ways to immerse readers in a piece of writing is by appealing to their five senses — smell, taste, touch, sight, auditory cues. This is a great way to anchor readers within, or otherwise flesh out, scenes that may be missing that crucial “something”.
In this workshop, we will talk about how to use sensory cues to immerse readers in a scene, helping them see better through your character’s eyes, in order to pull them deeper into the world of a story, novel or nonfiction piece.
The cost is $35.
