SERENA TENE hesitates to call herself a “poet”. For now, she just loves the feeling of a poem gently knocking on her heart and brain and not leaving until she writes it down. The poems don’t come every day, and often come unexpectedly, which makes receiving them more meaningful and special. She has written many published articles about various topics, especially related to environmental, food system, and social justice issues, and has worked for decades as a communications professional in the non-profit sector.
