University of Guelph Professor David B. MacDonald, author of The Sleeping Giant Awakens:Genocide, Indian Residential Schools, and the Challenge of Conciliation, speaks about the legacy of residential schools on Monday October 7, 7:00 PM, in the Ebar.
This important book considers how residential school survivors and other Indigenous peoples, settlers, and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada approached the question of genocide in the Indian Residential Schools system, assessing prospects for conciliation in the aftermath of genocide.
