Action Read is holding its 17th annual For the Love of Words (FLOW) fundraiser on Friday, April 26th, 7:30 PM, at the Guelph Youth Music Centre.
There will be readings, performances, and presentations by poets, spoken word artists, musicians, and Action Read learners. Poets include Kevin Sutton, Allison LaSorda, Shannon Bramer, and Bashar Lulu Jabbour. Artist Dawn Matheson will present her spoken word project with Action Read learners, and music will be provided by Guelph rising stars art-folk / rock duo The Lifers. The event will be led by emcee extraordinaire Jerry Schramek.
Tickets are only $20 and are available at the Bookshelf, on EventBrite.ca, at Action Read, and at the door. A one-of-a-kind silent auction made possible by the dedicated support of numerous local artists, restaurants and businesses will also be available. The venue is accessible. The event is licensed.
