Philip Gosling's story is of a remarkable passage of time in a life of discovery, personal growth and change, part memoir and part reality, from business success to a deeply felt love of natural life whether nurturing his home garden or protecting the lands and forests of the Niagara Escarpment.
As a founder of the Bruce Trail and his leadership in its building, by volunteers in one year in 1962, he will be his best remembered by Ontarians.
In notable recognition of his many achievements and philanthropy are his Awards of the Order of Canada and Hon LLD. from the University of Guelph.
