Friends of Vocamus Press is pleased to announce that Action Read Community Literacy Centre will once again be our charitable partner for the Guelph Book Bash Festival this year.
Action Read is a community-based non-profit organization dedicated to improving the literacy and numeracy skills of adults and families in the city of Guelph. They believe that learners and tutors are active partners in learning and that learning should be challenging yet enjoyable. They provide meaningful engagement for learners, volunteers and staff at Action Read and the larger community in an accessible and flexible learning environment where people of all backgrounds feel supported, encouraged and secure. They strive to provide a learner-centred organizational culture based upon compassion and respect that meets diverse learning goals, styles and needs.
You’ll be able to support Action Read at Book Bash on Sunday, October 15, 2:00 Pm to 4:00 PM at Lakeside Hope House. You'll also be able to check out Action Read's new offices, conveniently located in the same building. Come learn a little bit more about what they do and support their work in the community.
