Local community organization Start2Finish is looking for volunteers for its Running and Readings clubs, which are focused on students who face social/economical challenges and might not otherwise have an opportunity to participate in a team sport.
The 32 week after school program involves both a 5 km run at 3:15 PM (not mandatory for volunteers) and a 30 minute literary component at about 4:10 PM (reading, vocabulary and comprehension), effectively nurturing mind, body and social health. There are four Running and Reading clubs in Guelph at Willow Road School (Tuesdays), Gateway and Westwood Schools (Wednesdays), Brant Ave School (Thursdays).
