The Indigenous Poets Society collective is calling for submissions to PowRed, a new quarterly zine of Turtle Island Indigenous writers & artists, with a vision to amplify Indigenous voices, keeping oral traditions alive through art, music and the written word.
They're looking for stories, poems, reflections, science fiction, fantasy, oral histories, essays, interviews, teachings or artwork from all Indigenous Writers, Artists, Storytellers & Spoken Word Poets from across Turtle Island - Elders, Children, status and non-status, Metis, Innu, Inuit and First Nations, all ages and abilities, community elders, youth, Native adoptees, Two-Spirit Indigiqueer LGBITQIA+ folks, people with disabilities & people in Correctional Centers.
Publication is in January 2024. People may submit 4 pieces of writing and/or art per person (4 pages or less), with a short Biography outlining non/ Status, Metis, or First Nations ancestry, in Word or Rich Text format only. Please keep originals; they are not able to return submissions.
