Guelph author Marion Reidel has released her debut collection of short stories, We Drank Wine.
This is a comical collection of linked stories about four women who face life’s challenges and battle to keep shame at bay. Parenting issues include biting toddlers, adolescent pyromaniacs and entitled brides. One husband disappears with embezzled funds while another rethinks his gender orientation, and throughout it all the friends support each other while drinking wine. The collection includes the award winning stories “Adopt-A-Pet”, where a young couple’s desire to gain social status goes awry, and “Viking Cruise”, in which senior citizens seeking the perfect vacation are abused by Viking warriors.
