Events

  • Tea ‘n’ Tales is back in person every Friday at 10:30 AM. Storytellers take the mic at Riverside Park's Enabling Garden to entertain audiences with tales and music.

  • Zane Koss is launching his new book, Harbour Grids, joined by Mike Chaulk and Emma Healy, on Saturday July 2, 7:00 PM, at The Bookshelf.
  • The Guelph Guild of Storytellers is holding its regular meeting online, at 7:00 PM, on Wednesday June 1. The event includes an open-mic and scheduled tellers from Guelph along with guests. Email Brian for the Zoom link – briahols@yahoo.com.

  • Local author Donna McCaw will be reading from Across the Great Divide at Cafe Creperie in Elora on Wednesday July 6 at 7:00 PM. She will be joined by musician Paul Whitaker for an evening of music, readings, storytelling, and trivia.

  • Vocamus Writers Community's Second Saturday Writers' Hang-out is on June 9, 7:00 PM at Atmosphere Cafe on Carden Street. It's a casual and unstructured chance to meet with other writers. All are welcome.

  • The City of Guelph is running a Poetry in the Park program on Monday mornings, July 11 to August 22, 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Riverside Park. The fee is $86.88 (Residents) or $99.90 (Non-Residents). Register here – https://bit.ly/3NPdwmi .

  • The Vocamus Writers Community Creative Non-Fiction Group will hold its monthly meeting by Zoom on Tuesday July, from 7:00 to 8:00 PM. Email Trish: heyespe@gmail.com or Martina: martina.freitag@gmail.com for the link.

  • Join your fellow writers every two weeks for a Social Writing Night on Thursday July 14 1nd 28 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Centurion Coffee (1027 Gordon Street, Unit 10). Email Trish Heyes at heyespe@gmail.com to reserve a spot.

  • The legendary Kazoo! Print Expo is back for another year filled with comics, zines, illustrations, letterpress, and so much more, at Royal City Church (50 Quebec St, Guelph) on Saturday July 16, from 10 AM to 3:00 PM.
  • The Vocamus Writers Community Genre Fiction Group will meet in person outdoors on Sunday July 24, 2:00 PM. The topic will be writing action scenes. Email vocamusgenregroup@gmail.com for the location.

  • Join the Vocamus Writers Community Poetry Group on Saturday July 30, from 2:00 to 3:30 PM. It's an informal group for poets at various points in their careers but working seriously on their craft. Email vocamuswriterscommunity@gmail.com for the zoom link.

  • Vocamus Writers Community's Last Sunday Writers' Hang-Out will be held through zoom at its regular time, on Sunday July 31 at 1:00 PM. If you'd like to join, email vocamuswriterscommunity@gmail.com for the link.
