Events

  • The Women's Writing Circle meets every Monday, 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Village Loom in Eden Mills. $15-20 suggested donation or PWYC. drop-in welcome. Email villageloom@gmail.com.

  • Local authors Adam Lindsay Honsinger and Kasia Jaronczyk are launching their new novels on Saturday March 1, 7:00 PM, at the ANAF (32 Gordon St, Guelph).

  • Local author Arlene Davies-Fuhr, author of Zola: The Zany, Zippy, Zealous Pig. will be reading on Thursday March 6 and Friday March 7, from 11:00 AM to noon at the Children's Reading Room.

  • Local author Kira Vermond is running her 23-Minute Writers’ Club online on Fridays at 4:00 PM for 45 minutes. And it's free! Email kira@vermond.ca for the link.

  • The VWC Second Saturday writers' hang-out is on March 8, 7:00 PM at a NEW LOCATION – Royal Electric Bar and Eatery at 52 Macdonell Street.

  • The Guelph Guild of Storytellers hosts Stories from the Hill at the Guelph Civic Museum on Thursday March 13 at 7:00 PM. 

  • Guelph Writes: two panel discussions celebrating Guelph’s literary movers, shakers and story-makers are on Wednesday March 19 and Wednesday March 26, 7:00 PM at the main location of the Guelph Public Library.

  • Guelph poet Melinda Burns launches her new collection of poetry, Homecoming, on Saturday March 22, 7:00 PM, at the Red Brick Café, with guest readers Michael Kleiza and Greta DeLonghi and live music by Lettercraft.

  • David Rankine mixes amusing anecdotes and cutting edge research from his book, Two Bays Pack: The Coyotes of Inverhuron, on Sunday March 23, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at Harcourt Church (87 Dean Ave, Guelph).

  • The Last Thursdays Zoom runs on the last Thursday of each month at 7:30 PM. It's for memoir and other creative non-fiction writers at all stages. Email martina.freitag@gmail.com for the link.

  • Join the VWC Poetry Group online on Saturday March 29, from 2:00 to 3:30 PM. It's an informal group for poets at various points in their careers. Email vocamuswriterscommunity@gmail.com for the link.

  • Join us for our VWC Last Sunday Writers' Hang-Out, an informal chance to meet and chat with other authors at the the front cafe table in Miijidaa on Sunday March 30 at 1:00 PM. All are welcome.

  • Entries to the 2025 Teen ETCH Writing Contest are due by midnight on March 31!
