Events

  • The Guelph Guild of Storytellers are holding the 16th  Tea ‘n’ Tales events at the Guelph Enabling Garden located within Riverside Park on various dates over the summer. Check them here – https://vocamus.net/community/events/2024/07/tea-n-tales-0.

  • Local author Kira Vermond is running her 23-Minute Writers’ Club online on Fridays at 4:00 PM for 45 minutes. It's free! Email kira@vermond.ca for the link.

  • Colleen Fisher Tully leads a creative writing workshop on Saturday July 13, 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Details – https://www.elorawritingworkshops.com/.

  • The VWC Second Saturday writers' hang-out is on July 13, 7:00 PM at Atmosphere Cafe on Carden Street. It's a casual and unstructured chance to meet with other writers, have a drink, and chat about what you're reading and writing. All are welcome.

  •  Marilyn Kleiber leads a workshop on literary world building on Monday, July 15, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at the Victoria Park Seniors Centre. Ccall 519-846-9691 x204 Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM to register.

  • Rio Youers launches his new novel, The Bang-Bang Sisters, on Tuesday July 16, 7:00 PM to 9;30 PM, at the Elora Brewing Company.

  • Eramosa Eden is holding a writers' retreat from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Sunday July 21 at 178 Indian Trail, Township of Guelph/Eramosa. The fee is $25. Email glorianye@gmail.com.

  • Marilyn Kleiber leads a workshop on creating character on Monday, July 22, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at the Victoria Park Seniors Centre. Call 519-846-9691 x204 Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM to register.
  • The VVWC Creative Non-Fiction Group invites you to join them online on Thursday July 25, at 7:30 PM. Email martina.freitag@gmail.com for the link.

  • Join the VWC Poetry Group in-person at 130 Dublin Street North on Saturday July 27, from 2:00 to 3:30 PM.
  • Join us in person for our VWC Last Sunday Writers' Hang-Out for an informal chance to meet and chat with other authors at the downtown Red Brick on Sunday July 28 at 1:00 PM. All are welcome. See you there!

  • VWC has announced the date for Book Bash 2024! It's on November 3 at the Farmers' Market. Put it in your calendar!
