• Book Bash 2024 is coming up on Sunday November 3, and we want you to be involved! Let us know if you're an author with a book out in the past year, a volunteer who would like to help out, or a sponsor who would be able to support the festival. Email us at vocamuswriterscommunity@gmail.com.

• The VWC Second Saturday writers' hang-out is on September 14, 7:00 PM at Atmosphere Cafe on Carden Street. It's a casual and unstructured chance to meet with other writers. All are welcome.

• Fergus author Kasandra Coleman will be appearing with fellow author Kern Carter at the Stone Road Mall location of Indigo, on Sunday September 15, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

• Join the VWC Poetry Group on Saturday September 28, from 2:00 to 3:30 PM, location TBA.It's an informal group for poets at various points in their careers but working seriously on their craft. Email vocamuswriterscommunity@gmail.com.

• Eramosa Eden is holding a writers' retreat from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Sunday September 29 at 178 Indian Trail, Township of Guelph/Eramosa. The fee is $25. Email glorianye@gmail.com.

• Join us for our VWC Last Sunday Writers' Hang-Out, an informal chance to meet and chat with other authors at the downtown Red Brick on Sunday September 29 at 1:00 PM. All are welcome.

• Guelph author Nicholas Ruddock has had his short story collection, Planet Earth, accepted by  House of Anansi Press.

• Guelph publisher Fenylalanine Publishing has released a new novel, Breakaway, by Canadian artist Michael Davidson.
