Here's the March 2023 Vocamus Writers Community Newsletter, which means spring must be in sight!

  • The Eden Mills Writers' Festival presents Kinauvit?, featuring author Dr. Norma Dunning in conversation with Mary Ito, on Wednesday March 1 at 7:00 PM. Register here – https://edenmillswritersfestival.ca/emwf-book-club-kinauvit/.

  • The Vocamus Writers Community Genre Fiction Group will meet in-person at the University of Guelph on Sunday March 5, 2:00 PM. The group will discuss public in-person readings. Email vocamusgenregroup@gmail.com for the building and room number.

  • The Guelph Guild of Storytellers is at the Guelph Civic Museum on Wednesday March 9, at 7:00 PM with featured stories and a short open mic.

  • Vocamus Writers Community's Second Saturday Writers' Hang-out is on March 11, 7:00 PM at Atmosphere Cafe on Carden Street. It's a casual chance to meet with other writers. All are welcome.

  • The Eden Mills Writers' Festival presents In the Upper Country, featuring author Kai Thomas in conversation with Bee Quammie. on Wednesday March 22 at 7:00 PM. Register here – https://edenmillswritersfestival.ca/emwf-book-club-in-the-upper-country/.

  • Guelph author Melinda Burns is offering a six week Spring Writers Group, online on Wednesdays, from March 22 to May 2. $70 +HST. To register, e-mail Melinda Burns at mbeburns@sympatico.ca.

  • Join the VWC Poetry Group on Saturday March 25, from 2:00 to 3:30 PM. Email vocamuswriterscommunity@gmail.com for the zoom link.

  • Join us in person for our Last Sunday Writers' Hang-Out for an informal chance to meet and chat with other authors at Planet Bean on Sunday March 26, at 1:00 PM. All are welcome.

  • The deadline for the Guelph Public Library's Teen Writing Contest is Friday March 31 2023.

  • The Guelph Public Library and Vocamus Writers Community are partnering once again to offer teens in grades 7 through 12 the chance to be published in the Library’s 2023 Teen ETCH Anthology this June!
