Kim Davids Mandar

KIM DAVIDS MANDAR has been a Guelphite since 1997, thrilling in the natural beauty of Guelph, the friendships and community spirit. As co-founder of Rickson Ridge Neighbourhood Group and Publisher of Neighbours of Hanlon Creek magazine (summer 2018 launch), she delights in the freedom to contribute to and enjoy a growing network of community relationships.

Kim’s credentials range from degrees in applied linguistics and music therapy, certificates in education and instructional design to teaching English as a second language in Canada. Kim's MSc in Capacity Development and Extension Studies at The University of Guelph officially begins in September 2018.

Kim is a-capstone-course-away from completing the Creative Writing Certificate Program at The University of Guelph. Kim writes the monthly family feature story for Best Version Media's Neighbours of South End Guelph. Vocamus Press published her poem Insomnia in 2017. She is currently workshopping her children's book There is Beauty Here Because You Are Here, a tale of migration and resilience. You can find her flash CNF piece Smoke Signals in The Sustenance Anthology (Anvil Press 2017) and CNF story My First Non-White Christmas in Prairie Fire Literary Magazine (forthcoming). Kim is co-host of Bookish Radio on CFRU.ca, 93.3 FM in Guelph.
