LAUREN WRIGHT VARTANIAN is a multidisciplinary visual artist who earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Drawing and Painting from the Ontario College of Art and Design in 2006. She made the move to textile art after the birth of her daughter, ten years later. Her work focuses on bridging Science and Art in a way that is both beautiful and educational. Lauren is the founder of Neurons and Nebluas, a platform on which she shares and sells her science-inspired art. She has recently published her first book with Firefly Books (release October 2024) an alphabet book which she illustrated entirely out of textiles. The artwork is a combination of applique, embroidery, needle felting and quilting. Lauren lives in Guelph with her husband and child. She is an active part of the Guelph artistic community.
