Lisa Baird is a queer poet, essayist, parent and community acupuncturist living on the territories of the Attawandaron/Chonnonton/Neutral peoples, which is also the treaty land of the Mississaugas of the New Credit and part of Dish with One Spoon territory (Guelph ON). Her poetry has appeared in various journals including Arc, Rattle, and Plenitude and was longlisted for the 2020 CBC Poetry Prize. She is a contributor to the Lambda-award winning anthology The Remedy: Queer and Trans Voices on Health and Healthcare (Arsenal Pulp Press, 2016) and to GUSH: Menstrual Manifestos for our Times (Frontenac House, 2018). 

Her first book, Winter’s Cold Girls (Caitlin Press, 2019) was shortlisted for the 2020 Relit Award for poetry. Her chapbook Persephone's Crickets came out with Baseline Press in 2024. Her second full-length poetry collection, When Whales Went Back to the Water, was published by UAlberta Press in 2025. www.lisabaird.ca.
